Gmail or G Suite Unable To Sign In

The Problem

Unable to sign in to Gmail or G Suite on MacOS 10.14.6 Mojave. Google requires authentication through Safari, but nothing happens when Safari is opened.

The Solution

If you have a G Suite or Gmail account you may be finding that since you updated to Mac OS 10.14.6 and Safari 10.13 that you are no longer able to access your Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Notes via the Apple Applications on your Mac.

When you go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Internet Accounts and select your Google Account you get the following message:

You are given the options to Cancel or Open Safari, but if you select Open Safari and nothing happens, try this:

Head to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Software Update and look for Safari 13.0.1 update.

Choose Update Now to run the update.

Once this update is complete, you should now find the problem is resolved.
