Make Your iPad run faster

If you’ve had your iPad for a while you might find it’s not running as fast as it used to. We’ve put together 5 quick and easy tips to help.

Delete Unused Apps

To delete an App, go to your home page and hold down any App you haven’t used in a while, once the App is wobbling, press the small ‘x’ that appears in the top left hand corner. It will ask you to confirm this action.

Free Up Storage Space

Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage (in Storage, not iCloud).

Here you can swipe left and tap the delete button on unnecessary files within Apps that are taking up valuable storage space and therefore enabling your iPad to perform faster.

Clear Your Cache

Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.

Confirm Clear and this should increase the speed in which Safari functions.

Turn Off Location Services & Animations

Some find these services vital in which case this isn’t for everyone, however if you can live without them you will notice an increase in battery life as well as an increase in the speed of functionality. Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Then switch Location Services to off. Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion. Then switch on Reduce Motion.

Restart

After you have completed some or all of the steps above, restart your iPad by fully powering off the device. Hold down the power button and slide left to power off. Give the iPad a moment to fully shut down and after a minute or two switch your device back on. After a few mintues of use you should be able to see a noticeable difference to how your iPad works.

Good luck!
